Learning to drive shouldn't start with a gamble.
The story of Supa SD: why we built it, who's behind it, and where it goes next.
From asking around to checking once

The gamble
For many learner drivers in South Africa, finding an instructor still means asking around and hoping. There's no central place to check that someone is actually licensed to teach, no easy way to compare the instructors near you, and no record of who's good until you've already paid for lessons.
Good instructors feel it from the other side. They're qualified and careful, but they lose work to word-of-mouth gaps, invisible to the learners who would book them if only they could find them.

Check once, show everyone
Supa SD starts from one idea: verify every instructor properly, once, and show the result to everyone. Before an instructor is listed, we check their driving instructor licence, their PrDP and their vehicle's roadworthiness against official South African registers and documentation.
Learners see what's been checked on every profile, so the only thing left to judge is whether the instructor is the right fit. How we verify →

Practise like it's the real thing
Finding an instructor is only half the road. The other half is passing the K53, so Supa SD includes free practice built to the real exam's structure: three sections, each marked on its own, and you have to pass all three.
Every answer comes with an explanation, and your readiness is tracked per section, so you find out which part will fail you before the real test does. See K53 practice →

Supa SD sits where two of those areas meet: education, learning the rules and the skill of driving, and mobility, getting people safely and legally onto South Africa's roads.
The group's mission is to make transport in South Africa safer, more accessible and more transparent. Supa SD is our contribution to solving the driving instructor problem: connecting learners with verified, qualified instructors they can trust.
Three things we won't bend on
Checked before listed
No instructor appears in search until their licence, PrDP and vehicle roadworthiness have been checked.
Straight about our role
We verify credentials, not outcomes. Lesson payments stay between learner and instructor, and we say plainly what we don't do.
Free where it counts
K53 practice built like the real test costs learners nothing, because everyone deserves to know where they stand before test day.
The next chapters are written with you
We're onboarding the first verified instructors now, and search will open to the public soon. Supa SD is on Android, with free K53 practice built in.
